Parker Browne's Art

Teaching Quality Standard 1. Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach. Level: Proficient
I am confident in my ability to teach art at any K-12 level. There is always more to learn about art whether it's new artists or techniques I've never heard of. I plan to continue my art and teaching knowledge throughout my life. I have been including a lot more literacy in my lessons but I want to try and include more math as well.

Element A: Teachers provide instruction that is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards and their district's organized plan of instruction.

Reasoning Statement: My Awakenings project lesson directly applies to several of the Colorado Visual Arts Academic Standards. My mentor teacher came up with the project idea and I wrote the lesson and made the presentation to introduce it.
